Ingredients

For the burger meat

  • 450 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon avocado oil

For the fries

  • 800 grams Yukon gold potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil

For the toppings

  • 90 grams melting cheese - American or mild cheddar
  • 3 handfuls shredded lettuce
  • 3 pickles
  • .5 chopped onion
  • toasted sesame seeds optional

For the burger sauce

  • 100 grams Greek yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 Tablespoon dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon sweet chili sauce or honey
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Pinch salt

Instructions

For the fries:

  • You can make these fries in the oven or in an air fryer. The instructions are pretty similar for both.
  • Preheat the oven or air fryer to 425°F (220°C).
  • If using the oven, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the potatoes into evenly-sized wedges (about ¼ inch thick works well). Toss them in a large bowl with the avocado oil and salt until evenly coated.
  • If using the oven, spread the potato wedges in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet, making sure they're not overcrowded. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • If using the air fryer, dump your potato wedges into the basket. Toss halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.

For the burger meat:

  • While the fries are baking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the avocado oil, then add the ground beef. Spread out the beef a little bit with a spatula, to try to get as much browning as possible.
  • Season the ground beef with garlic powder and salt. When there’s a good crust on one side, flip it over in chunks, and roughly break it up with a wooden spoon.
  • Cook the ground beef for 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.

For the burger sauce:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, ketchup, mustard, sriracha, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, sweet chili sauce, and salt. Set aside.

For the toppings:

  • Prepare the toppings while the beef and potatoes are cooking. Wash and slice the lettuce, chop the tomatoes and pickles, and grate the cheese.
  • If using onions, I like to add them to the beef for the last few minutes of the cooking process to brown them slightly.

Assembling the bowls:

  • Divide the crispy fries among serving bowls. Top with the grated cheese, beef, shredded lettuce, pickles, chopped onion, and a generous drizzle of burger sauce. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for a bit of burger bun flair.
  • Serve immediately. Dig in while everything is hot and enjoy!
